Notes:
The title means “Unknown Territory” as was used to describe uncharted areas of the world on early maps. In addition to the geographical connotation, the work may evoke a voyage of discovery into the inner landscape of the psyche. The piece utilizes various timbral possibilities of the alto saxophone and piano, including glissandos, timbral trills, and “inside the piano” work.
